Masonry Construction Quality Forum

External walls continue to feature heavily in issues being picked up on site and were responsible for one-third of all claims costs paid out by NHBC in 2018. Data collected from Construction Quality Reviews shows build elements of external walls such as cavity trays & DPCs and firestopping remain in the top focus areas for the industry in 2019.

NHBC will present the latest build quality statistics so individuals from both manufacturers and construction experts can come together to discuss not only problems but also solutions in the built environment. We will be offering you the chance to work with industry sector colleagues, in a workshop environment, to look at build quality and how we close the performance gap.

This will include the challenge of fire stopping and ensure compartmentalisation is correct. We will also discuss how we build ‘watertight’ and ventilate right as we address the issues of climate change.

Both the Building Alliance and NHBC’s technical experts will offer their interpretation of the Government’s proposals to changes to Part L and Part F of the Building Regulations and you will have the chance to ask questions of Government officials and challenge their interpretation through an interactive session.
